It is becoming more convenient to produce creative and challenging tasks for students to complete using our VLE. However I would like to see statistics that would confirm that students do learn more effectively using online based interactive tasks.
I entirely agree with the development of ICT interactive resources but I find it very time consuming. I often spend 2 – 3 hours on a task that student complete in 5 to 10 minutes. I know that the task could be used in the future but often the course changes and the tasks become redundant.
I am wondering do other teachers share my concerns.

I think what is important for educators is to find ways ofcollecting evidence which shows what approaches work best. I also think that there is a need to find and publish more information about the design of resources to make sure that they are ueful in accessible locations, like this website.

I said something very similiar to this - some resources can be knocked out quickly - but the really professional and engaging ones take so long to get right! And I find within the college where I am based - that management still prefer to send me on meaningless training for beginners - than allocating time to do something really interesting for these students!

I think what should really be pushed is what this site talks about - blended learning - chalk and talk still has its place - but I think it can be enhanced with really good use of ICT resources
